Ringo-kasane

The combination of baked apples and pie crust is definitely perfect

“Ringo Kasane” made by Kikuya in Ohita Prefecture is an apple pie with diced apples. Kikuya’s another sweets,  “Purin-Dora” , bean-jam pancake sandwithed pudding, is my favorite, so I did not have an image of their apple pie, and they have many lineup of western-style confections as well.

Ohita Prefecture’s apple production output ranks 38th out of 47 prefectures (as of 2020), so that it is hard to image of apple confectionery there.

It is made by folding square pie dough.

The pie is layered to 432.  How many times does it fold to reach 432 layers?

The pie includes diced apple fruit and has the right amount of crunch. The apple jam paste inside goes well with the pie crust. Such baked apples and pie crust are a definite combination.
