Mizuyokan (Kubota)
Japanese notation "水ようかん(久保田製菓)"
Kubota Confectionery locates in Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture, also supports Fukui Prefecture’s unique food culture of “Mizuyōkan in winter. While the national image of Mizuyokan sesasonality may be in summer, however, in Fukui Prefecture, it is a winter delicacy.
The outer box color scheme is a bit similar to “Egawa no Mizuyōkan” and the design represents the history and retro atmosphere of the product, like Showa period.
The case is filled with a board-shaped mizuyokan. It might be kind a Fukui style. A Wooden spatula included.
It is really transparent and seems to be quite light bean jelly. The face looks shiny mirror.
In Fukui, It is common to eat up all by themselves without sharing, though it seems even large for one. Indeed, it is easy to finish it up.
It is light and sweet, and has a unique texture that is like loosen up in my mounth. we can buy it only in winter season, from November to March every year, and I find it interesting that it is not available in summer.
