“Kuririn Pumpkin Pie” made by Yoshida Foods in Nishikikyo-cho, Hakodate City is a pumpkin pie using Kuririn Pumpkin grown by a pumpkin farmer Miyoi locates in Morimachi, southern Hokkaido.
Kuririn pumpkin is grown in well-drained volcanic ash soil near Eruption Bay at the foot of Komagatake, where is rich in minerals from the sea, and none-use of synthetic pesticides. The feature of species gives high sugar content and powdery texture.

This pumpkin pie is buttery and naturally sweet. It tastes high sugar content of Kuririn pumpkins and it is suitable to use for making sweets. The pie crust is also kneaded with Hakodate’s specialty, Makonbu (Japanese kelp). The ingredients are fully from the local.
