ままどおる

A well-known Fukushima specialty, the standard of milk paste

The “Mamador” made by “Sanmangoku” in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, is a well-known confectionery of Fukushima. The name “Mamador” means “milk-drinker” in Spanish, and it has been a long-selling product since 1967, and is also the signature product of Sanmangoku.

The illustration of a mother and her baby on the package is less than 10 cm long, but it feels rather heavy.

The soft dough that emerges when the package is opened, appears to be baked to a golden brown, but the surface is moist and smooth to the touch.

Inside is filled with yellowish milk red bean paste. This is the reason why it feels so heavy. The milk red bean paste is soft and buttery with a very gentle sweetness.

ままどおるを食べてみた

The “Mamador” is very particular about the freshness of the ingredients and has a much shorter shelf life of 4 to 5 days after production compared to similar sweets, and is very delicately made so that the natural flavors of the ingredients used can be felt as they are.
