Higashi-Taiheiyō
Japanese notation "東太平洋"
Baikado, located in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture, is a very long-established confectionery established in 1918. The confectionery has long been a favorite of the local people in Shiogama City, where it has been engaged in making a blend of Japanese and Western sweets.
The name of the product, “Higashi-Taiheiyō (Eastern Pacific)” and the illustration of a ship, give no clue as to what kind of sweets it is, but reading the introduction on the back, it seems that it is made with rum syrup.
Upon opening the package, I found a standard cookie that looked nothing out of the ordinary.
The texture is quite moist.
Amazingly delicious! I didn’t realize it until I ate it, but it is very adult and luxurious, with plenty of rum. The syrupy rum is kneaded into the cookie dough, making it feel like you are eating a luxurious cake. It was an amazing cookie!
