The “Lemon Cake” made by Ishimura Mansei-dō in Fukuoka Prefecture is a cake that uses an abundance of “Karatsu Lemons” grown at Urata Farm in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture. Ishimura Mansei-dō is a very long-established store established in 1905, and is also famous for its famous confectionery “Tsurunoko”.
Made with lemons from Kyushu, this “lemon cake” is an authentic product with lemon puree kneaded into the batter. It looks like a madeleine.
A beautiful sponge cake appeared with the aroma of lemon. It is quite moist and simply delicious.
I found this lemon cake to be very complete, with the natural bitterness and sweetness of lemon coexisting. It has an organic lemon flavor. It is a confectionery that makes you feel the richness of the land of Kyushu.
