Tsuboya Tako is a traditional confectionery based in Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture, and is the only store permitted by the long-established Japanese confectionery “Tsuboya Sohonten,” which has its head office in Hongo, Tokyo, to split its business from the original store.
Classic manjuu form, beautiful yuzu color.
The texture of the crust was moist and had a subtle scent of yuzu. The inside is filled with red bean paste.
It has a very elegant taste, and I was surprised at the perfection of the white bean paste with yuzu kneaded into it. I was surprised at how well yuzu and white bean paste go together.
As one would expect! It was an elegant taste with a sense of tradition that made me want to roar, “That’s what I’m talking about!
