Naruto Kintoki Sweet Potato Daifuku

Absolutely delicious and cheap—as expected from Yanaka Fukumaru's seasonal special.

“Naruto Kintoki Sweet Potato Daifuku” is made by  Yanaka Fukumaru Manju, a shop locates in Yanaka, Taito ku, Tokyo. It’s apparently an autumn-limited confection due to the harvest seasonality.

The packaging mirrors their familiar four-piece bite-sized manju series.   This series offers superb value for cost with its affordable price and satisfying volume.

The sweet potato kneaded in to the mochi, rice cake and it colors yellow on the rice cake.  Looks cute round, a bite sized daifuku.

Just a right size, freshly pounded mochi with black sesame seeds inside.

This is… so delicious and never tasted such well balanced sweet potato and rice cake before. It must be the Naruto Kintoki variety, but the sweet potato filling is truly exceptional. The natural sweetness and the chewy texture of the mochi. The sweet potato flavor is perfect too!
