“Sakuranbo Cookies”, cherry cookies, made by Yoneya confectionery store in Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture, where is famous for the largest production of cherries among all areas in Japan. There are many different types of cherries-based sweets made there. Even so, “cherry cookies” are a rare.
A pair cherries is printed on the vivid pink package, looks like a nostalgic feel.
It contains two thin oval-shaped cookies per package. They are thin, 3-4 mm thick, but each cookie is quite large.
It has a crispy, hard texture, kneaded pink grains into the cookie dough are so-called “Drenched cherries” or candied cherries. They are harvested in local and abundantly kneaded into the cookie dough.
