Kazumi apple pie
Japanese notation "加積りんごパイ"
“Kazumi apple pie” is made by Shoeido, which is based in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, and operates several stores in the prefecture. The apples from the Kazumi-no-area in Uozu City, Toyama Prefecture, are called “Kazumi apples” and have a history of more than 100 years since they were first cultivated in 1905.
The amount of apples produced in Toyama Prefecture is only 1/300th that of Aomori Prefecture, the largest producer of apples in Japan, but the “Kazumi apple” has a high sugar content and is popular as a sweet apple. This makes the apple pie sound quite valuable.
A disk-shaped pie appeared. It is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but it is quite thick and you can feel its weight.
It is filled with baked apples. The pie crust is also thick and browned, with a slightly biscuit-like texture.
The multi-layered pie crust also has a slight buttery flavor.
The cinnamon flavor and the apples, which still have just the right amount of fruitiness, create an elegant sweetness. The concentrated apple flavor is mouthwateringly delicious.
