Hiraoka Farm Lemon Cake
Japanese notation "平岡農園レモンケーキ"
This cake is made from lemons grown by “Hiraoka Farm” a lemon farmer with a history of over 65 years on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture. This lemon cake is made by Nagate Choeido, a Japanese confectioner on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, who also makes the “Naruto Orange Awaji Cake” introduced the other day.
The climate of Awaji Island is said to be close to a Mediterranean climate, making it suitable for growing lemons in Japan. There are many lemon-based specialty products from Hyogo to Hiroshima.
The cake was round and about the size of 2~3 bites.
Cross-section of fine, moist sponge cake with a hint of lemon.
It is moist and has a rich lemon flavor. It is a lemon cake with a mild sweetness rather than sourness. I think it is good that Awaji Island has a “Mediterranean climate” where delicious lemons can be harvested.
