Raspberry Pie
Japanese notation "木苺パイ(杉山壽山堂)"
“Raspberry Pie” made by Sugiyama-Jusandō in Akita City is a “Raspberry Pie” using raspberries grown in Gojome Town located in the center of Akita Prefecture.
In Gojome Town, the “Gojome Town Raspberry Study Group” is aiming to become a pioneer domestic raspberry producer, and they are having local cafes and restaurants use the raspberries carefully grown in the region.
A round pie baked to a golden brown. This one also looks delicious, carefully handmade and baked.
The texture is freshly baked, like a bought it in the morning at a bakery.
Inside is an original bean paste filled with raspberries grown in Gojome. The original “raspberry red bean paste” is not made with raspberry jam, but with raspberry bean paste, as one would expect from a famous Japanese confectionery store.
The raspberry bean paste is unique and has a Japanese flavor despite the use of raspberries. The sweet and sour raspberry flavor in the gentle sweetness of the white bean paste is a perfect match with the pie crust. I thought it was a very well thought-out pie with a high degree of perfection.
