Cheese Manju (Seikadō)
Japanese notation "チーズまんじゅう(おかしの清香堂 )"
The motto of the bakery is “To preserve the traditional taste, it is fundamental not to overproduce,” and they make only 500 cheese manju every morning. When I hear that, I feel that the one I have on hand is at a great premium.
When opened, it has a standard appearance, but the outer dough is crispy and baked, conveying a handmade feel.
A look inside reveals that it is filled with fresh cheese. It is a delightful thing about Miyazaki cheese manju that you can taste beautiful fresh cream cheese in a manju.
The outer dough was also baked like a hard cookie, which I liked very much. The fresh cream cheese is definitely delicious, and you can tell that the pastry is carefully crafted. The pastry is limited to 500 pieces each morning, but the taste is so good that you may feel like eating just one piece is not enough.
