Kyūsu-Monaka
Japanese notation "急須もなか"
The “Kyūsu-Monaka” made by Miura Seika, a confectioner in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a monaka shaped like a teapot. It is a cute and unique concept.
It is also interesting that the Japanese paper package is exquisitely watermarked so that the contents cannot be seen.
Upon opening the package, I found a monaka in the form of a teapot. It is very precisely made, yet this size is adorable.
Inside you can see the red bean paste with plenty of tea leaves mixed in.
The bean paste inside is a slightly sweet, slightly bitter tea bean paste that has a strong and delicious tea flavor unique to Shizuoka. Although it is such a cute and interesting concept, the taste of this authentic monaka is very mature.
