Matcha-Gengetsu
Japanese notation "抹茶幻月"
The beautiful package design of “Matcha Gengetsu” made by Zenkashoin in Kyoto caught my attention and I bought it. It has a serene yet glamorous feel that is typical of Kyoto’s confectionery shops.
When opened, the entire waffle is a bright matcha-colored waffle. The matcha is kneaded into the dough, giving the waffle an eye-opening color.
The cream sandwiched inside is matcha cream made from matcha green tea produced in Kyoto. Anyway, the whole thing is matcha green tea-colored.
When you break it open, the waffle dough and cream are the same shade of color and beautiful.
The waffle dough is like a matcha-flavored cookie, and the matcha cream sandwiched in between has a refreshingly sweet, bittersweet, adult flavor. The matcha cream between the waffle dough and the matcha cream was sweet, bittersweet, and mature.
