Fujoh

Pie pastries from a pastry shop that values the traditions and culture of Minamisoma City.

“Fujoh”  made by Shougetsu-do in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, has been loved by many locals over 45 years since they first went on the sale as the store’s signature confectionery.

The confectionary name “Fujoh” comes from the name of the Soma Odaka Shrine, which is also known as the stage of “Soma Nomaoi” and was called “Fujoh” in the past.

The pie pastry has a sense of originality, azuki bean paste with coffee flavor is wrapped in a buttery pie and baked.

The reddish-brown red bean paste is contained in the layers of pie crust. Walnuts seem to be mixed in the paste, which looks delicious.

The flavor of the red bean paste is unlike anything I have ever tasted before, and it goes well with the buttery pie crust. The red bean and coffee flavors are more harmonious than I expected, and the walnuts flavor is also very pleasant. It is no wonder that it has been a long seller product.
