Baumkuchen mini (Club HARIE)

In fact, they have been making baumkuchen over 50 years.

Club HARIE has become a major player in the market of the baumkuchen and “Baumkuchen mini” is made by them. The confectioner is also known as a brand of “Taneya Group”.  They are a long-established confectionery shop in Shiga Prefecture. It seems to have become famous recently, but to my surprise, it is a long-established brand and they have been making baumkuchen since 1973.

The package box is very stylish. It has a beautiful marquetry-like design.

Each package contains 10cm diameter mini size of baumkuchen and it is carefully packaged by piece.

Despite its miniature size, it has a neat sugar coating around it and looks no different from the regular-sized version of the baumkuchen.

Cut it with a knife, the texture is much lighter than I expected. It is fluffy and moist, but also strangely crispy.

I believe that this exquisite texture of the dough is the completion after studied for years.  The taste is also delicious, with a fresh egg flavor, and it convinces us why it became so popular, and is understandable it is made by such a famouns baumkuichen shop.  They would expand more potential on the baumkuchen.
