Kasama-no-Kuri dorayaki

In fact, Kasama City is Japan's largest producer of chestnuts which filled in Dorayaki

“Kasama-no-Kuri dorayaki” made by “Kasho Niitsuma” , a Japanese confectionery in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is a bean-jam pancake filled chestnuts which are grown in local and ranks first in the industry for its production.

Generally Gifu and Nagano are famous for chestnuts, however, in fact Ibaraki is the largest producer of chestnuts for both cultivated area and the producution output.  Kasama city in particular is the thriving area.

The dorayaki is extremely thick, and the height is probably because of a filled whole chestnuts in it.

The thick crust is made from Okkuji eggs, a brand of eggs produced by Hitachi-farm in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Both the dough and chestnuts are made in Ibaraki Prefecture.

The dough is like a springy yet fluffy sponge cake. A large chestnuts inside is very impressive. It is a luxurious dorayaki that showes the enthusiasm as a thriving region for chestnuts.
