Gouter de Roi

Everybody knows the standard rusk "Gouter de Roi"

“Gouter de Roi” made by Gateaufesta Harada, who originated in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, is a gateau rusk coated with butter and sugar.  This is a very famous sweets as a standard rusk of the confectionery and many of us has ever had this before.  The impressive tricolour package can easily remind us of the confectioner.

“Gouter de Roi” means King’s snack and it sounds high quality and sophisticated atmosphere, impressive naming.

The process how they make this seems to be quite simple, coating French bread with butter and sugar, in the other words, they cannot fudge on any other way.  They originally blend flour to make fhe French bread thoroughly.

The butter flavor ooze out from the bread, smooth feel and fresh butter texture.

It is crispy and tastes rich butter and sugar.  They are well balanced.  This is the standard completed rusk and should be loved for long time.
