Pie made from Akita apples

Akita apple pie as the confectionary name said

“Pie made from Akita Apples” made by Kaoru-do in Akita Prefecture is, as the confectionary name said, a pie made from apples harvested in Akita Prefecture.

Kaoru-do is a long-established confectionery established in 1922, and focuses on making sweets using ingredients grown locally.  They also make traditionaly sweets of Akita, such as “Chojya no Yama“.

A round pie baked to a golden brown.

The dough is thick and firm in texture.  Baked and chopped apples are filled in the pie.

This apples grown in Akita is conspicuous and the plenty of baked apples are filled in the pie. Comparing to the general apple pies, butter and cinnamon flavor of the dough seems to be least so that it tastes very much flavor of the apples themself.
