Yojo-nyūka Don-Tsukutsu
Japanese notation "余情乳菓どんつくつ"
“Yojo-nyūka Don-Tsukutsu” made by Urata kanyodo locates in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a milk manju, steamed sweet bun, made from sweet potatoes. Urata kanyodo is also famous for their “Okiagari Monaka“, bean-jam-filled wafer, shapibng like a cute local toy.
The word “Yojo”in the name means a deep and profound taste that remains with you even after the event, or a taste that does not disappear from your mind even after the event is over.
The surface of the manju skin is smooth and beautifully textured.
“Goroshima kintoki”, one of races in sweet potatoes, harvested in local, is used for the filling jam. The race has strong sweetness among the products.
The filling paste is made from the sweet potatoes mixed with milk gives pleasant texture on tongue and it is fine sweetness. I could feel the depth of Kanazawa’s confectionery culture and it represents Urata Kanyodo’s charactaristic.
