Iwaki Hamadohri

Drawn sightseeing map of Iwaki Hamadohri on the pakage

“Iwaki Hamadohri” made by Miyoshi confectionery in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, is a chestnut bun filled with a whole large chestnut.

“Iwaki Hamadohri” is a name of the area connecting Iwaki city, Soma city, and the other cities along the Pacific Ocean in the eastern part of Fukushima Prefecture. It is a coastal street centering National Route 6, which has been a popular transportation hub for a long time. A map of major tourist attractions in Hamadohri is drawn on the package.

It is a chunky, small-sized manju, bun.

It includes a whole large chestnut wrapped in pasted sweet bean jam.

As we can see, the volume of chestnuts is amazing. The pasted sweet bean jam is also refreshing, and the bun’s thin skin has an elegant finish.  It is a  standard manju, bun, but the presence of the chestnuts is just amazing and luxurious.
