Chamise-manju

Japanese notation "茶みせまんじゅう"
Ukyo, who locates in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a restaurant who serves Traditional Japanese cuisine in courses, called Kaiseki in a quiet residential area near Odawara Castle, but they also make and sell many kinds of Japanese sweets.
This time I bought “Chamise-manju”, a sweet bun. The airy package is a distinctive feature of this sweet. It looks like they want you to eat freshly made sweet.
The steamed bun is shiny and fluffy. The skin made with brown sugar has a freshly made texture and even feels transparent.
Inside is smooth textured pasted bean.
Both the bun skin and the red pasted bean have a fluffy texture and it is delicious. The overall flavor is light, but the sweetness of the bun is well-balanced with the richness of the brown sugar.
