Horoyoi Momiji-manju
Dipped in brandy! Chocolate goes very well with it.
Japanese notation "あんぱん饅頭(彩雲堂)"
“Anpan Manju” made by “Saiundo” a long-established Japanese confectionery store established in 1874 in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, is packaged with a distinctive panda illustration.
The expressionless panda is interesting.
The panda branding on the manju also has a mysterious cuteness to it, as if it is quietly standing still. The manju dough has the texture of baked bread.
Inside is tsubu-an (sweet bean paste). The dough around the filling is just like a mini-sized “Anpan“.
The dough is slightly buttery and has a firmer texture. Despite the size of the manju, it has a firm, rich sweetness that is satisfying. It was a high quality manju.
