Chō-Getsu
Japanese notation "釣月"
“Chō-Getsu” made by “Kikyouya Orii” a Japanese confectionery in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, is a confectionery named after Chō-Getsu-ken, where Matsuo Bashō wrote “Kai Ohi”. Matsuo Basho was born in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, and wrote his first work at Chō-Getsu-ken in Iga City.
It is a pastry consisting of azuki bean paste sandwiched between baked crusts, but it is quite thick and looks reminiscent of a hamburger.
The red bean paste is sandwiched between the dough, which is somewhere between bread and biscuit.
The unique texture of the baked crust is good. The texture is a bit like a soft scone, with the aroma of azuki beans, and the sweetness is elegant. The taste was well expressed in the elegant atmosphere named after Matsuo Bashō, a famous Japanese haiku poet.
