Soba Mochi
Buckwheat cakes from an old buckwheat noodle shop in Kyoto

“Ritsu-boku” made by Wakanaya Honke in Kyoto is a dorayaki filled with chestnuts.
There are many dorayaki made with chestnuts, but expectations are high for chestnut dorayaki made by a long-established Japanese confectioner in Kyoto.
It looks like a standard dorayaki. It has a thicker crust, which is a texture that I personally like a lot.
When I cracked it open, I immediately saw Ogura-an (sweet bean paste) with chestnuts. The chestnuts were chopped and contained a considerable amount of chestnuts.
Chestnut nuts are scattered in abundance so that you can taste them wherever you eat the dorayaki. The balance between the red bean paste and chestnuts was very satisfying.
