Akita Miso Senbei
Japanese notation "秋田味噌せんべい"
“Akita Miso Senbei” made by “Akita Inafuku Beika” in Akita Prefecture is a luxurious rice cracker made with “Akita Miso” from Kodama Brewery, one of Akita’s leading miso, soy sauce, and sake breweries established in 1877.
The design of the package depicts a “Namahage” (a Japanese masked monster), bringing Akita Prefecture’s traditions to the forefront. Akita Prefecture has long been a major producer of miso, and there are many miso breweries in the area.
Many small-sized rice crackers baked to a golden brown were served.
The baked miso rice crackers are colored a beautiful fox color. The size is about 3.5 cm in diameter, so you can eat it in one bite, but it is very thick, so it is probably 2-3 bites in size. The aroma of the mochi is very good, so I will try it right away.
The crispy texture on the palate has the aroma and sharp salty taste of miso, with a very deep sweetness in it. The flavor of miso is superb and the perfection is amazing. In Akita Prefecture, it is popular not only as a tea snack but also as a snack with sake, and I was convinced that it would go well with sake.
