Amanatsu-mochi
The full potential of Izu's sweet summer citrus
Japanese notation "山家焼(やまがやき)"
“Shougetsu-do” located in Fujikawa-cho, Minamikoma-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a long-established confectionery shop established in 1899. Its signature products are rice crackers such as “Kurisenbei” and “Yamaga-yaki”.
A piece of rice cracker is in an individual package with “irori” painted on it.
A rice cracker baked with peanuts and wheat, it looks and feels similar to Nanbu Senbei.
It is thick enough to hold a whole peanut. The texture is chewy and the peanuts are fragrant, slightly sweet, and a little buttery, just like a Japanese hard cookie. It was a deliciously simple rice cracker.
