Wakagaeri-manju Mame-da-yo

Third in a series "Wakagari-manju" with Edamame

The “Wakagaeri Manju” series is marketed by “Sen-eido” in Hago-cho, Ogatsu-gun, Akita Prefecture, with the humorous catchphrase “Eat one and you’ll be young for three days !?”

This time, I picked up “Wakagaeri-manju Mame-da-yo”. This is the third in the series, and it seems to be a manju made from edamame (soybeans).

It is a beautiful light green color of edamame. The dough is made of kuzu, a characteristic of rejuvenating manju, and has a jiggling texture.

The bean paste is coming out from the inside. The color is so the same that you cannot tell the border between the manju skin and the bean paste.

The mouth feel is fresh, and the texture of edamame (green soybeans) remains in the bean paste, making a good match. The sweetness is smooth, and the aroma and flavor of the beans are fully utilized.
