Pon-Daizu
Japanese notation "ぽん大豆"
“Pon-Daizu” made at “Route Manten Pondoyaki Processing Plant” in Daisen-cho, Tottori Prefecture, is a confection made from “green soybeans” harvested in Daisen-cho. Pon-gashi is often made from rice, but this “Pon-gashi” is made by applying heat and pressure to green soybeans and then releasing the pressure at once to expand the soybeans.
The handmade package label shows “Daisen” a famous mountain in Tottori Prefecture.
When served on a plate, it comes out with a “kara-kara” sound. Naturally, since it is a pomelo snack made by skipping the water, it is a crispy soybean that is completely dry.
It is surrounded by a white sugar coating like a sugar candy, but the inside is just like soybeans.
Look at this crunchy texture. It is a natural confectionery that allows you to dynamically feel the deliciousness of soybeans themselves. It was a good confectionary with a handmade and simple taste that makes the most of the bounty of nature in Tottori Prefecture.
