Zebra-pan
Japanese notation "ゼブラパン"
“Zebra-pan” made by “Okiko Pan” is a standard sweet bread that has been loved in Okinawa for nearly 40 years. First of all, it should be noted that the size of the bread is much larger than that of ordinary sweet buns.
It is named “Zebra-pan” because the layers of bread look like a zebra’s pattern.
Compared to a 500-yen coin, it looks like this.
The thickness is also amazing. It may seem a little too big for one person to eat, but this volume seems to be synonymous with Zebra-pan.
This black layer is “brown sugar paste” with peanut cream in the middle.
The peanut cream and subtle brown sugar flavored bread went very well together, and the balance of flavors was just perfect. I can see how this would become a staple, and the big size made me very happy and delicious.
