“Taneya” is a Japanese confectionery store that originated in Omi Hachiman City, Shiga Prefecture. It is a large confectionery store that is now well known throughout Japan, but it is a long-established confectionery store with tradition, founded in 1872. This time, I bought “Umashi-imo”, a seasonal confectionery from Taneya.
Lots of black sesame seeds are sprinkled on top.
When split in half, it is filled with sweet potato paste made from “Naruto Kintoki”. The outer manju skin is made very thin and coated with soy sauce sauce to enhance the sweetness of the Naruto kintoki.
The slightly salty and savory taste of soy sauce and sesame on the outside enhances the natural sweetness of the Naruto kintoki inside. This is a must-have snack for sweet potato sweet potato lovers.
