Tsuru-no-ko
Japanese notation "銘菓 鶴乃子"
The “famous confectionery Tsurunoko” made by Ishimura-Manseido in Fukuoka was created in 1910 and is very famous as one of the best confections of Fukuoka.
In Japan, the crane is also a symbol of good fortune.
The egg-shaped case that comes with the two-pack is also a nice feature, as it can be used to hold small items.
The distinctive feature is this snow-white, round appearance. It is so bright and pure white that it looks like it is glowing, and when you touch it, it is smooth to the touch, making a great impact when you first see it.
Incidentally, the ice cream “Yukimi-daifuku” sold by Lotte was inspired by this “Tsurunoko” in 1981. I did not know that “Yukimi-daifuku” was also inspired by this confectionery.
The fluffy marshmallow dough and the simple sweetness of the yolk red bean paste are, needless to say, delicious. Tsurunoko” has created various influences in the history of confectionery, and its appearance and deliciousness will surely remain a staple of Fukuoka’s famous confectionery in the future.
