Golden chestnut pound
Japanese notation "金栗ぱうんど"
“Kinuguri Paundo” made by “Osakaya Kurahachi,” which has a nearly 70-year history in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, is a pound cake filled with luxurious large chestnuts.
The overwhelming presence of large chestnuts can be seen through the package. This pound cake dynamically uses chestnuts from Nakayama Town in Ehime Prefecture.
The chestnuts are so large that they almost protrude from the pound cake batter. The cake batter seems to contain brandy and has a slight scent of Western liquor.
Rather than chestnuts in the pound cake, it is more like the pound cake is attached around the chestnuts. The chestnuts seem to be sweetened with the skin still attached.
I eat it. First, large chestnuts roll into my mouth. The chestnuts are sweetened with astringent skin and go well with the pound cake, which is made of a mature dough with a hint of Western liquor. It is also very satisfying. The taste of brandy and chestnuts in the pound cake was a delicious mixture.
