Choco-Man(ROYCE’)
Japanese notation "ちょこまん(ロイズ)"
Chocolate maker “ROYCE'” has established itself as a staple of Hokkaido souvenirs. Among the many chocolate confections in their lineup, the “Choco Manju” is unique. I was intrigued by the “Manju?” I was intrigued, so I bought one.
The entire manju skin is chocolate-colored and the texture is very moist. It also has the feel of a cake-like dough baked thin and made to look like a manju rather than a traditional manju skin.
The outside is a chocolate-flavored white bean paste, and the inside is the “raw chocolate” that ROYCE’ is known for.
The manju skin, the white bean paste in the middle layer, and the raw-style chocolate filling each had a slightly different nuance of chocolate, and they were all mixed together to create a rich chocolate flavor. The white bean paste seems to have chocolate chips mixed in, and as expected from Lloyds, I felt a new style of red bean paste. It is recommended to eat it cold.
