Japanese notation "華"
“Hana” a famous confectionary representing Kyoto confectionary place Kogetsu, is a baked bun with yolk bean paste that was created in 1961.
A manju shaped like a chrysanthemum flower. I was amazed at the ability to bake manju dough with such minute decorations.
The softness of the yolk bean paste inside and the border between the outer manju dough and the bean paste are so integrated that you cannot tell the difference.
The manju has a slight buttery flavor and a hint of vanilla, giving it a Western-style atmosphere. The chrysanthemum flower shape makes it look like a Japanese-style confectionery, but it is also a Western-style confectionery that goes well with coffee.
