Kaku-Kaku
Japanese notation "赫々(かくかく)"
The name of this confectionary is unreadable unless furigana is written on it. “Kaku-kaku” is a dorayaki made by “Inaka Mochi Honpo Takeshita” in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The meaning of the word “Kaku-Kaku” is
(1) A reddish glow, the state of being full of enthusiasm.
(2) The appearance of remarkable merit.
It is a word of good omen or a cool word to remember. I never thought I would learn a word from the name of Dorayaki.
The package is quite large for a single dorayaki. You can tell even before opening the package that it is thinly made, but it looks like it has quite a large area.
Cool branding on the dorayaki crust. It looks like a thin dorayaki, but it is flat and large. As I like Dorayaki crusts, I am happy with the shape.
When split in half, you can see that the dorayaki skin is quite chewy. The texture of the skin is moist and heavy, making it very satisfying to eat.
The dorayaki skin is firm and the bean paste inside is light in flavor. The dorayaki crust has a unique texture with a chewy and elastic texture. The mochi texture is delicious.
