Yuki-maro (Cherry)
Japanese notation "雪まろ さくらんぼ味"
Kineya Honten, the maker of Yukimaro, is a very long-established company with a history of nearly 200 years. Although Kineya Honten has a long history, the company is also dedicated to making new confections. I bought a cherry flavor of “Yukimaro,” a marshmallow and ice cream candy.
Pure white ice cream buns. I put it in the freezer for a while after buying it, and was worried that it might get stiff, but it was fluffy even right after taking it out of the freezer.
The texture is very light and soft. The ice cream inside, which is made from handmade jam of Yamagata Prefecture’s finest cherries “Sato Nishiki” soaked in syrup, also has the most delicious natural sweetness and sweet-sourness of cherries.
It has a light, melt-in-your-mouth texture, the slightly sweet and sour sourness of the cherries and the slight sweetness of the marshmallow are exquisitely delicious.
