Coffee Raisin Butter Sandwiches

“Coffee Raisin Butter Sandwich” is made by Marufuku Coffee Shop, who was established in 1934 in Chuo-ku, Osaka City. They are a traditional coffee shop loved by many cultural figures since before World War II and has even been depicted in a novel.
An illustration of a woman is printed on the package. She is the image character and she dress like a popular fashion in Taisho era (1912-1926). The package desgin looks retro atmosphere.
It is a standard pastry with raisin cream sandwiched between biscuits, and both the biscuits and the cream inside are made with coffee flavor, because it is made by coffee shop maybe.
The brown coffee cream includes plenty of raisins inside.
The slightly bitter flavor goes well with the fruity sweetness of the raisins. I was surprised at how well the coffee flavor and raisin cream went together.
