“Ichiroku Tart” made by Ichiroku Honpo, a well-known specialty confectioner in Chikoku, has different series, such as the original flavor, Yuzu (Citron) and Uji-matcha.
They use Uji matcha supplied by Morihan who is a long-established tea leaf producer over 100 years in Kyoto and the company name is known as the brand name. The package looks high-grade sense.
It looks very much featured an Ichiroku tart itself. The bright green sponge and the deep green red bean paste create a beautiful two-tone color.
The matcha bean paste is mixed with tea leaves and it completes an authentic Uji matcha bean paste and gives subtle astringent taste.
The matcha-flavored sponge cake batter and matcha bean paste are well harmonized and tastes matcha green tea fully. It has a great ability of the Ichiroku tart.
