Okayama Momoko Momo-manju

Sweet bun with puree of "Shimizu Hakutō" from Okayama Prefecture

Okayama Fruit and Vegetable Sales Company produces a variety of food products mainly using local agricultural products in Okayama Prefecture.  This “Okayama Momoko Peach Manju” is a sweet bun made from pureed Shimizu white peaches, produced in local.

The confection name “Okayama Momoko” is a brand of products made by them. The ingredients are fruits grown there.  They also make different variety of foods.

Shimizu Hakuhoh is used for the confectionery. One of races, Shimizu Hakutoh has been grown since 1932 and it accounts for 40% among all peaches grown, representivie race there today.

It is quite unusual sweet bun filled with peaches. Looking inside, mixed white bean pasts and peach puree filled in.

 

The softly fragrant peach puree and white bean paste go well together. It is fruity, and still a Japanese-style confectionary.
