Kokutou manju (Yanaka Fukumaru)

Representing astonishing cost performance

Kokutou manju, brown sugar sweet bun is the signature confection of Yanaka Fukumaru in downtown Tokyo, which boasts an amazing cost-performance. It is a little size and  unbelievably cheap, and it is really delicious and my favorite manju.

Until some years ago, they were sold by piece at 10 yen each, but now they are sold by package contained 9 pieces at 110 yen. Still there is no doubt that it is an astonishing cost performance.

Fluffy manju dough. The main reason why it tastes so delicious could be because of its freshly made, and without saying of high quality of both manju dough and koshian, strained bean pastes.

It tastes delicious. The bite size is also good. Although it does not last long, it would be a good for souvenir to your freinds. I am sure everyone would like it.
