Hachinohe Senbei Yaki Cheese

Crispy rice crackers inspired by Nanbu Senbei

“Hachinohe Senbei Yaki Cheese”, made by Sakashita Shoten locates in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, is a new type of rice cracker inspired by Nanbu Senbei, a popular rice cracker in Aomori, and is characterized with its thin and crispy texture.

The package design is modern, and printed “Hachinohe Senbei”on the top of the package. It is transparent to see many thin rice crackers in the package.

It looks like a “Ebi mirin-yaki” ,shrimp crackers, but is thinner and has a much firmer texture.

It is surprisingly thin, perhaps 1 mm thick. Since the wheat is stretched thin before baked, it has a crispy texture and breaks easily.

The cheese powder is sprinkled generously on it and goes well with the rustic wheat-flavored rice crackers. It is a perfect snack with beer.
