Don't think of it as a typical custard manju.

“Tsuki-de hirotta-tamago (Eggs found in the moon)”, produced by Asahi Confectionery in Yanai City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a very major custard manju in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

Since its release in 1986, it has been adopted as an in-flight meal by ANA, and has been used in collaboration with various characters, making it a very popular snack in the prefecture.

This custard manju seems to have chestnuts in the cream.

Chestnut nuts are accented and go well with the mild custard cream. The outer cake batter is delicious to say the least, so this combination is an ironclad combination.
