Bara-Pan (Rose Bread)
Japanese notation "バラパン"
“Bara-Pan (Rose Bread)” is a famous local bread of Shimane Prefecture. It has been loved for more than 70 years since it was created by “Nambou-Pan” in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, around 1949, and has been loved by people for over 70 years, and is now called the soul food of Shimane Prefecture residents.
The package has a rose and the company name “Nambou-Pan” in the lower right corner. The retro design is a nice touch.
When opened, the bread is shaped like a rose flower. Cream can be seen in the center of the flower.
The mountain-shaped bread is sliced into thin slices and rolled to form the shape of an open rose like this.
The layers of the rolls are also filled with cream. This cream is what holds the thinly sliced bread dough together.
The generous amount of cream is refreshingly simple, sweet, and perfectly balanced for a perfect taste. It is easy to see why it has been loved for more than 70 years without any changes. It is a souvenir that cannot be missed as Shimane Prefecture’s local bread.
