“Saga-Bōro” made by Motomura Seika in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, is a confectionary that everyone in Kyushu has eaten before. The company manufactures 200,000 of these confections every day, the largest number in Japan.
“Bōro” was introduced to Japan from Portugal around the 16th century, and the confectionery introduced 300 to 400 years ago is still popular today in its original form.
