Shōro Manju
Round manju with sponge cake dough made by careful handwork
Japanese notation "ビスマン"
“Bisman” was created in 1954 by “Bisman Honpo Tonohata Futabado,” a long-established Japanese confectionery store with a 133-year history located in Nakatsu City, Oita Prefecture. The name “Bisman” is derived from “cookie” and “manju”
Bisman, made with cookie dough and yellow bean paste, has received numerous awards, including the “20th National Confectionary Exposition Honorary Non-Judging Award” and the “Japan Federation of Western Confectionary Associations Technical Grand Gold Award”.
The large “Bisman” logo is just the right touch of Showa-era style.
The dough was moist and the yellowish red bean paste inside was nostalgically sweet.
It is a deliciously rustic sweet pastry.
