Anmaki-Shokupan
Japanese notation "あん巻き食ぱん"
Anmaki Shokupan” is made by Kogane Pan in Yanaizu-cho, Gifu City. Kogane Pan is a bakery that has long been a favorite of the local people in Gifu, and is also a major bread maker in the Kinki region, with products available in stores in Aichi Prefecture.
The bread is baked with the Ogura-an (sweet bean paste) crudely rolled into the bread, and is sold as a small-sized loaf, perhaps half the size of a loaf.
Ogura-an (sweet bean paste) is neatly wrapped around the bread dough in a swirling pattern.
The dough is very moist and heavy for its size. It even feels fresh even though it is bread.
It has a luxurious taste. The taste of the straight wheat bread is mixed with just the right balance of Ogura-an (sweet bean paste), which is different from so-called “Anpan”. Above all, the bread itself is extremely delicious.
I was expecting a bread dough with a lot of butter, but it is not like that. It is a bread with the honest taste of wheat. I think it is a bread with a taste that you will never get tired of.
