Sansho Sembei

Japanese notation "玉穂堂さんしょ煎餅"
I bought “Tamahodo Sansho Sembei” made by “Tanakaya Senbei Sohonke” which was established in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture in 1859 and has a history of over 150 years.
The packaging has a nice retro look.
The ingredients are simple – flour, sugar, and eggs – and seasoned with tamari soy sauce and sansho (Japanese pepper), making this a unique rice cracker.
It may be more appropriate to call it a sponge cake-flavored snack than a rice cracker. It is about the size of a coin.
Basically, it is a crispy egg-based rice cracker, but the aroma of shoyu and sansho (Japanese pepper) are subtly mixed together to create a lingering taste. Overall, the soy sauce is not so strong, and the simple sweetness of the egg cracker is delicious.
