Gouter de Roi Triple Berry
Japanese notation "グーテ・デ・ロワ トリプルベリー"
“Gouter de Roi Triple Berry” made by “Gateau Festa Harada” in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, is a famous rusk “Gouter de Roi” coated with berry chocolate.
“Gouter de Roi” is a classic luxury rusk that seems to be a staple of gift-giving. It is familiar throughout the country and often seen, but I didn’t know that there is actually a lineup of these rusks coated with various types of chocolate.
The name “Gouter de Roi” means “King’s pastry”.
It was quite hard to crack open, but there is a rusk inside. The bakery makes their special triple-berry French bread from the baking process for this chocolate-coated rusk. They are very thorough.
The crunchy texture & chocolate and the rusk inside are amazingly delicious. The attention to the ingredients is on full display, and the French bread rusk with blueberries and triple berry chocolate is just perfect.
